Overview:
As a Warehouse and Logistics Supervisor, you will oversee warehouse operations and manage logistics service providers across Madagascar. You will be responsible for coordinating importation activities from international suppliers, including import licences, customs clearance, inventory movement, and warehouse security, while providing regular operational updates to the Head of Supply Chain.
Location: Antananarivo, Madagascar
Role Responsibilities:
As a Warehouse and Logistics Supervisor, you will :
- Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring all goods received and dispatched are accurately recorded against the relevant PO or MRO.
- Manage logistics providers and coordinate inbound shipments from foreign suppliers, including import documentation, licences, customs clearance and delivery follow-up.
- Monitor inventory movements, buffer stocks, returns and quarantine processes, and support monthly stock counts and reconciliations in SAP.
- Ensure warehouse space, resources and equipment are planned effectively, and escalate outstanding operational issues where required.
- Work closely with Finance and internal stakeholders on customs payments, stock visibility, reporting and operational follow-up.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and local laws relating to importation, disposal, health, safety, security and environmental requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement in warehouse and logistics processes to improve productivity, quality and stakeholder satisfaction.
Requirements for the Role:
To succeed in the role, you will be/will have:
- Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Management or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in logistics, warehousing or supply chain operations.
- Strong knowledge of importation processes, customs clearance, inventory control and warehouse operations.
- A professional certification in procurement and supply, such as CIPS/MCIPS, would be an advantage.
- Experience working in a large organisation is preferred.
- Willingness to travel when required for business needs.
