Role Overview

Reporting to the SHEQ Manager, the SHEQ Advisor will be responsible for implementing and facilitating Helios Towers’ SHEQ strategy within the OpCo and across the supply chain. The role will influence employees, contractors and external stakeholders to continuously improve health, safety, environmental and quality performance, while ensuring effective risk management and full compliance with Helios Towers’ SHEQ standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

As a SHEQ Advisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Implementing and maintaining SHEQ policies, procedures and standards across sites and offices.
  • Supporting risk management activities by conducting risk assessments and proposing mitigation actions.
  • Carrying out regular planned and ad-hoc site and office inspections to ensure compliance with HSE requirements.
  • Monitoring, reporting and addressing non-conformities, including recommending corrective and preventive actions.
  • Supporting ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 certification and ongoing compliance activities.
  • Preparing and submitting accurate SHEQ reports and performance data to support management decision-making.
  • Leading or supporting SHEQ investigations and audits, identifying root causes and driving corrective actions.
  • Coordinating and engaging with internal departments, contractors, service providers and external authorities.
  • Supporting the delivery of SHEQ training programmes and monitoring training effectiveness.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen safety culture and adherence to SHEQ standards.

 

Requirements for the Role

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Law, Police Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a SHEQ role within construction, maintenance or infrastructure environments.
  • Experience working in a matrix organisation and influencing contractors and partner organisations.
  • NEBOSH International General Certificate (or equivalent).
  • IRCA-approved lead auditor training (or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of SHEQ standards, risk management practices and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Fluency in both French and English.
  • Practical knowledge of the Madagascar operating environment.
