Overview

Reporting to the Chief Technology & Digital Officer (CTDO) and Executive Director, DRC, the Group Supply Chain Director leads the Supply Chain function across the organisation. This role is responsible for defining and implementing group-wide supply chain strategy, governance frameworks, and operational standards across the end-to-end value chain.

 

The position plays a critical role in building strategic supplier partnerships, optimising delivery performance, and ensuring operational excellence while maintaining full regulatory compliance.

 

Role Responsibilities

As Group Supply Chain Director, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the development and execution of group-wide supply chain strategy and transformation initiatives
  • Defining and implementing policies, processes, and systems to ensure efficient and well-governed operations
  • Managing procurement, logistics, inventory, warehousing, and asset lifecycle activities across the business
  • Building and maintaining strategic supplier and partner relationships to drive performance and value
  • Aligning demand planning with operational and commercial teams to ensure accurate forecasting and supply readiness
  • Driving ERP and supply chain system optimisation to improve visibility, governance, and performance
  • Establishing and monitoring KPIs to track performance, identify risks, and deliver continuous improvement
  • Leading operational governance, reporting, and performance tracking across the function
  • Driving productivity, quality improvements, and best practice initiatives across the supply chain
  • Leading, developing, and mentoring high-performing teams across multiple markets

 

Requirements for the Role

To succeed in this role, you will have:

 

  • A degree in Supply Chain Management or a related discipline
  • At least 15 years’ experience within complex, capital-intensive industries (e.g. energy, telecoms, infrastructure, oil & gas, automotive)
  • Proven experience leading supply chain transformation within a fast-growing organisation
  • Strong experience working in emerging markets (Africa experience preferred)
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing large, cross-functional teams
  • Experience within a large organisation or publicly listed company (e.g. FTSE 250)
  • Professional certification such as MCIPS
  • Strong knowledge of governance, risk management, procurement, and supply chain operations
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership capabilities
