Overview
Reporting to the Head of Commercial, you will play a pivotal role in driving sales strategy and execution for the Democratic Republic of Congo. As Senior Sales Account Manager, you will manage key customer accounts, lead commercial negotiations, and build long-term partnerships that contribute directly to Helios Towers’ growth strategy. The role is central to shaping customer relationships and ensuring delivery against ambitious commercial targets.
Key Responsibilities
As Senior Sales Account Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Driving sales performance to achieve and exceed revenue and growth targets.
- Managing strategic customer accounts, building long-term partnerships, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Leading commercial negotiations with C-suite and senior stakeholders.
- Developing and managing a long-term sales pipeline, including generating innovative ideas and securing institutional buy-in.
- Building strong customer relationships, ensuring clear communication and proactively resolving issues.
- Overseeing product integration and delivery, working cross-functionally to ensure seamless execution.
- Ensuring contract compliance and enforcing process excellence to protect both customer and company interests.
- Managing invoicing and receivables, ensuring accuracy, timely payments, and healthy cash flow.
- Conducting stakeholder mapping and engagement to maximise sales opportunities and reduce escalations.
- Coaching and mentoring the account management team to embed best practice sales methodologies and build future capability.
Requirements for the Role
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, or a related discipline (Master’s degree advantageous).
- At least 10 years of sales and marketing experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar senior role.
- Proven commercial experience in telecoms, IT, or infrastructure (operator, vendor, or service provider background ideal).
- Experience in B2B technical sales and account management.
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills at senior level.
- Track record of delivering growth in emerging markets, preferably Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Fluency in English and French (spoken and written).
- A Green Belt Lean Sigma certification (advantageous).
