Overview
As Maintenance Services Advisor, you will provide senior operational leadership and advisory support to strengthen maintenance service delivery across Helios Towers’ infrastructure portfolio in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Reporting to the Deputy Managing Director, you will drive operational governance, performance improvement, and compliance across maintenance services, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations, SHEQ standards, and SLA commitments.
You will play a key role in improving service execution, partner performance, and operational discipline, while driving sustainable improvements in uptime, cost efficiency, and service quality through data-driven decision-making and structured governance..
Role Responsibilities
- As Maintenance Services Advisor, you will be responsible for:
- Establishing and maintaining operating frameworks, governance routines, and execution controls required for disciplined maintenance delivery.
- Ensuring operational readiness across people, tools, processes, data, reporting, and spares prior to execution of field activities.
- Overseeing and governing planning and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance across the operational scope.
- Validating and ensuring that work orders are correctly prioritised, scheduled, executed, and closed in line with company policies and customer SLAs.
- Conducting and leading structured operational reviews (daily, weekly, monthly), ensuring actions are tracked and closed.
- Acting as and advising on escalation for critical operational issues, driving timely and effective corrective actions.
- Monitoring and reporting on key operational KPIs including uptime, MTTR, PM adherence, repeat faults, energy performance, and cost efficiency.
- Leading and driving root cause analysis of recurring failures and outages, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and sustained.
- Coordinating and aligning with SOC/CSOC, Planning, and field teams on outage reconciliation, prioritisation, and service recovery actions.
- Overseeing and managing service partners and suppliers, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations, SLAs, safety, and quality standards.
- Ensuring and enforcing compliance with SHEQ standards, safety management systems, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitoring and analysing energy performance and fuel consumption trends, identifying deviations and driving corrective actions.
- Driving and enforcing disciplined use of digital tools (RMS, ServiceNow, ICCP/WFM, dashboards) to ensuring data accuracy and operational visibility.
- Supporting and driving continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean practices, automation, and operational performance optimisation.
- Coaching and developing operational leaders and field teams, reinforcing accountability, capability development, and execution discipline.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- SLA compliance and site uptime performance

Requirements for the Role
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field (Master’s degree advantageous).
- A minimum of 15 years’ experience in telecom infrastructure, managed services, or maintenance operations, including at least 5 years in a senior advisory or leadership role.
- Strong experience in maintenance governance, service assurance, contract/partner management, and operational performance management.
- Proven experience working across African markets; experience in DRC is a strong advantage.
- Strong knowledge of telecom tower infrastructure and power systems (generators, batteries, rectifiers, hybrid solutions, grid integration).
- Proficiency in digital O&M tools and data-driven reporting platforms (Power BI or equivalent preferred).
- Experience in business continuity, operational risk management, and continuous improvement frameworks (e.g., ITIL, Lean Six Sigma).
- Fluency in French and English, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and technical teams.
