What we do
We build, acquire, lease up, and operate telecommunications towers that can accommodate and power the needs of multiple tenants. Our tenants are the major Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), and we serve them across nine high-growth markets (8 in Africa + Oman in the Middle East). Overview
Reporting to the Principal Engineer. In this role, you will be specialising in designing and developing telecommunication towers and related products, as well as structural assessment of their foundations or supporting building structures. You will play a crucial role in creating robust and innovative structural solutions for the telecommunications industry.
Role Responsibilities
- Developing comprehensive structural designs for telecommunication towers and related products.
- Performing structural analysis and simulations to ensure the stability and integrity of designs.
- Developing innovative and cost-effective strengthening solutions tailored to specific tower conditions.
- Designing foundations and concrete structures according to ACI 318 standards.
- Utilising Autocad software to create detailed technical drawings and schematics.
- Designing new telecommunication towers and complementary products using 3D CAD software like Autodesk Inventor.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant safety codes, building regulations, and industry standards.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to integrate structural components within broader projects.
- Researching and innovating to enhance the efficiency and performance of structural designs.
- Preparing detailed technical reports, documentation, and specifications related to the design process.
Requirements for the Role
- Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in a related engineering field, focusing on structural or mechanical engineering.
- Proven experience in designing and analysing telecommunication towers or similar steel structures.
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software, e.g., Autodesk Robot, Revit, and ASM Tower.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards such as ANSI/TIA-222, ACI 318, AISC 360, and ASCE 7.
