Location: Any Helios Towers African OpCo (50% travel across Helios markets / 50% office-based)

What We Do

We build, acquire, lease-up and operate telecommunications towers across eight African markets and Oman. Through infrastructure sharing, we help mobile operators expand network coverage while improving operational efficiency and sustainability.

 

Overview

Reporting to the Group Quality Control Manager, you will play a key role in delivering independent quality assurance across Helios Towers' operating companies. You will conduct technical audits, inspections and quality sampling to verify construction and maintenance standards, ensure compliance with technical specifications and identify opportunities to improve quality, contractor performance and operational excellence across multiple markets.

 

Role Responsibilities

As a Quality Control Lead, you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering independent quality control sampling across construction, maintenance and upgrade activities.
  • Conducting site inspections, desktop audits and virtual quality assessments.
  • Identifying, documenting and escalating quality risks, defects and non-conformities.
  • Supporting root cause investigations and monitoring corrective actions through to completion.
  • Analysing inspection data to identify trends and opportunities for continual improvement.
  • Working closely with Engineering, Operations, SHEQ and Managed Service Providers to strengthen quality assurance.
  • Producing clear, evidence-based audit reports and quality insights for leadership teams.
  • Monitoring contractor workmanship against technical standards and contractual requirements.
  • Supporting governance processes that improve compliance, asset reliability and operational performance.
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence across Helios Towers.

 

Requirements for the Role

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • A Degree or Higher National Diploma in Engineering, Telecommunications, Construction Management, Quality Management or a related technical discipline.
  • At least 7 years' experience within telecommunications infrastructure, engineering, construction, maintenance or quality assurance.
  • Experience conducting technical inspections, audits or quality assurance activities.
  • Strong knowledge of telecommunications site build and maintenance standards.
  • Experience assessing contractor performance against technical specifications and contractual requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, reporting and presentation skills.
  • High attention to detail with a strong focus on quality and compliance.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across Helios Towers operating markets.
  • Fluency in English is essential. French language skills would be advantageous.
