Overview
Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, you will serve in a supporting role within the Finance Department, gaining practical exposure to Accounts Payable operations and contributing to the accurate, timely processing of supplier invoices.
Location: Antananarivo, Madagascar
Role Responsibility
As an Finance Intern, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting the processing and recording of supplier invoices in line with approved purchase orders
- Verifying invoice accuracy, numbering, and compliance with internal procedures
- Ensuring invoices are allocated to the correct cost centres
- Supporting the approval workflow by ensuring required justifications are in place
- Following up on invoices submitted for approval and maintaining tracking records
- Scanning and uploading invoices into the finance system
- Filing and archiving accounting documentation
- Working closely with internal stakeholders to resolve invoice-related queries
Requirements for the Role
To succeed in the role, you will have:
- A degree or ongoing studies in Economics, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills
- Fluency in French
- A basic understanding of general accounting principles
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of accounting systems, ideally SAP
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage information accurately and confidentially
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- English language skills are an advantage
