Head of Performance Engineering

We build, acquire, lease-up and operate telecommunications towers that can accommodate and power the needs of multiple tenants. Our tenants are the major Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and we serve them across nine high-growth markets (8 in Africa + Oman in the Middle East). • Overview

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for driving the Performance of Helios Towers sites through the optimization of the site engineering and management of the Network Operating Centres.

• Location

This position is based in Dakar-Senegal.

• Role Responsibilities

As the Head of Performance Engineering, you will be responsible for:

• Driving Opex improvement and asset life to maximize return on investment through site monitoring, analysis, capability building, root cause analysis on failures and the creation of Site Work Orders to drive improvement activity onsite.

Staff Leadership and Management

• Ensure cohesive working with their functional area.
• Prioritising own targets/deadlines.
• Lead team meetings and contribute to specialist/technical areas when required

Escalations:

• Resolve escalations as per defined escalation/resolution procedures.

OpCo Operational:

• Design and implement operational changes and provide associated user impact assessment.
• Works to achieve operational targets with significant impact on departmental results.

Performance:

• Improve productivity and quality through leading practice initiatives.

Operational Delivery

• Developing the NOC structure with clear R&R aimed at reconciling Fuel & Preventative Maintenance work order
• Corrective Maintenance work orders, efficient access control and a function that uses Service Now as the tool to drive the business.
• Taking the Network Benchmark and analyzing current performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ensuring the connectivity of all sites in the portfolio to alarms & RMS systems.

Requirements for the Role

To succeed in the role, you will be or have:

• 10 years’ relevant experience Operational experience of working in Africa, operating in remote locations and managing remote teams.
• Must be conversant with, and be able to demonstrate, a proactive risk-based approach to EHS.
• Project Management certification
• Experience working in a large organisation
