Helios Towers is a leading independent telecommunications infrastructure company, having established one of the most extensive tower portfolios across Africa. It builds, owns and operates telecom passive infrastructure, providing services to mobile network operators. Helios Towers currently operates in 8 markets in Africa and Oman in the Middle East.

We build, acquire, lease-up and operate telecommunications towers that can accommodate and power the needs of multiple tenants. Our tenants are the major Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and we serve them across nine high-growth markets (8 in Africa + Oman in the Middle East). Overview

The Finance Director will be responsible for maintaining a timely and accurate set of accounting records in accordance with HT/HTG procedures in order to protect the company’s assets and provide the business the ability to produce information suitable for management control purposes and audit. You will be responsible for the Finance Team to deliver and achieve departmental and organizational objectives as well as HTG Financial KPIs.

Role Responsibilities

 

As a Finance Director you will be responsible for:

 

  • Executing the financial Strategy of HTG
  • Managing the financial controls and accounting procedures across the business.
  • Ensuring full transparency over the financial performance of the business.
  • Providing advice on how to increase revenue and reduce costs.
  • Effectively and clearly communicate potential risks in a timely manner.
  • Proposing action plans to ensure that annual financial objectives are attained.
  • Supporting the MD with the preparation of monthly and annual financial plans.
  • Maintaining speed and accuracy of billing and client payments.
  • Coordinating the production of taxation documentation.
  • Undertaking assignments assigned by MD.
  • Responsible for Tax compliance and ensuring risks are highlighted and managed with
  • management
  • Managing budget – ensuring favourable actual vs. budget analysis; highlighting possible deviations well in advance to management.

 

Requirements for the Role

 

To succeed in the role, you will be/will have:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Qualified Accountant (Final Stage) with a recognized Accountancy Body
  • At least 10 years (out of which 5 must be in a senior role) postgraduate experience in Accounting
  • Experience working in a large organization /public listed organization
  • Fluency in English
  • Willingness to travel due to business needs.
  • Corporate Governance with regards to Accounting/Business Financial/EBITDA management Compliance Tax and Accounting Compliance experience
  • Negotiation skills
  • Able to build and maintain good relationships with suppliers
